Question:
Sakamon Alaykom brothers and thank you for the
reply.
The incident I was talking about was being referred to in "Shia
Encyclopedia" according to a Sunni reference.
I paste that part for you:
"Ibn Zubair denounced Ibn Abbas for his opinion on Mut'a. Thus Ibn Abbas
told him: "Go and ask your mother what she did with your father." When Ibn
Zubair asked her, she said: "By God, I did not conceive you except through
Mut'a."
Sunni reference: al-Muhadhiraat, by al-Raghib al-Isbahani, v2, p96"
1. Please could you clarify if the above source is authentic?
2. They also gave another source for this incident and that was the Sharhe
Nahjolbalagha of Ebne Abelhadid. But I'm not sure if he can be considered
as authentic sourse for Sunnies (as far as I know Shia use him in their
debate because they consider him Sunni, while Sunnies use him in their own
debates cause they consider him a Motazeli who was almost Shia, could you
also let me know what was his real belief?).
3. Also could you let me know in general what you think about Shia
Encyclopedia and if there are any books in Arabic or English to answer it?
(I personally think that Shia Encyclopedia has only attempted to defend
from some minor belief of Shia without really proving the main idea of
Shia (i.e. Imamat), but want to know your opinion as well).
Appreciate if you kindly enlighten me on the above 3 questions.

Answer:
Al salam alaykum dear brother Seeker
1) I will let brother "Islam" answer this for he knows it.
2) Abi Al-Hadeed is a pure Mu'tazili. He is neither a Shia nor a Sunni.
But it is widely known believe that Shias are very close to Mu'atazilis. I
will inshallah show some resources that show that Abi Hadeed is a pure
Mu'tazili.
3) Shia Encyclopedia is full of fabrications. They mostly rely on showing
a weak hadeeth followed by tons of references from "supposed" Sunni
scholars!!
For example, they take Abi Hadeed as a reference against us when Abi
Hadeed is a Mu'atazili
Al-Zamakhshari is a Mutazili also but they include him in their references
against us.
And in some places we saw "Al-Ya'qubi"! Al-Ya'qubi is a pure Shia!
They mislead people through these references.
In general, the Shia encyclopedia is no different than an other Shia
medias in fabricating lies.
We hope that we answered your question.
Please brother, don't stop posting questions on the forums as long as you
have them.
wa al salam
